The last leg of Round Sardinia Race 2017 ended yesterday, arriving in Cagliari by Carloforte (60 miles).
The 2017 edition saw the total growth of the number of participating boats, with over 30 boats on the way to the first stage and with a dozen of them carrying out the entire periplo of the island.
This is the final classification of the sail: first Corto Maltese, by Maurizio Sabia, who wins the Regional Council of Sardinia; second Carpe diem, by Davide Macciotta, who wins the Santicchia Cup; third Anja, by Domenico Caparotti, who wins a trophy offered by Arbatax.
“Round Sardinia Race Two – says Andrea Mura – we are happy with this edition that circumnavigated the island counterclockwise, making it to the Villasimius (start in Cagliari), Arbatax, Porto Rotondo, Alghero, Carloforte and Cagliari. An ideal hug that has surrounded Sardinia, joining craftsmen, sailing clubs, naval ships, suppliers, partners, press, shipowners, sailors and fans of this healthy madness that is going to sea looking for the wind. “
The Round Sardinia 2017 was organized by ASD Vento di Sardegna, Ichnusa Sailing Kermesse and Italian Naval League of Villasimius, realized thanks to the contribution of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, with the support of a group of technical partners and all the navy and the sailing clubs / adherents nautical.
The event welcomed, as a testimonial boat, Vento di Sardegna of skipper Andrea Mura, cool winner of Ostar 2017.
