WHO I AM
Racing from age 6. In 2010, after several experiences, Louis Vuitton Cup and Olympics, I won the Route du Rhum. In 2012 I won (with record) Twostar (13 days 14 h), and Quebec – S. Malò. (11 days, 12 h). In 2013 I faced and won the terrible Ostar, 2,850 miles from England to the United States, the toughest of the solitary races because of the polar, counter-current and counter-current temperatures. I won the “Velista dell’Anno” Award in 2011 and 2014. In November 2014 I finished the second place (first of the monohulls) Route du Rum 2014 – Destination Guadeloupe in “Rhum Class”. Now on the road again with Ostar 2017 …
THE BOAT
Currently competing on Vento di Sardegna, an Open 50 practically unbeaten in the solo ocean races to which he participated. Boat designed by Felci’s Italian genius, and thn implemented over the years with technical and hydrodynamic improvements. Lightened, transformed, equipped with more and more powerful sails made by my “Veleria”. Thanks to the collaboration of a pool of internationally renowned sponsors and technical partners, Vento di Sardegna is a performing and reliable boat that does not suffer the signs of time.
THE TEAM
“Vento di Sardegna” is a shared and challenging project. Since 2007 (falls this year’s decade) has involved sponsors, technical partners, institutions, entities, common people … and then companies, consortia, suppliers, all put together by the passion for sailing and the challenges launched by the Team. Challenges that have followed without pause, in order to move the limit ever further, head down to try to win at any cost. Vento di Sardegna brings together high-level professionals and volunteers, big brands and family companies. The project has allowed us to test in extreme conditions technologies then become “standard”.
