An important event for #ventodisardegna Team on next Thursday in New York. After the historical success in the #OSTAR 2017, a solitary transatlantic regatta sailed May 29 from Plymouth (UK) and arriving in Newport (USA), Andrea Mura will be welcomed at the Consulate General of Italy in New York where he will be the protagonist of a dedicated event.

Starting from 4 pm on Thursday 29, the event will be opened with the greetings of the General Consul, Francesco Genuardi.

The #CONI Delegate for the US, Cav. Mico Delianova Licastro, will compliment on behalf of the Olympic Committee with the Sardinian athlete.

Andrea Mura will then deliver to Giacomo Bandino, chairman of the Circle Shardana of NY, the largest club of Sardinian emigrants in the world, the license plate given to them by the Sardinian Army Military Command.

Still, an extract from the book “Shardana and Sardegna”, specially designed by the author, archaeologist Giovanni Ugas, will be donated to Mura, to the Consul Genuardi and Cav. Licastro by the Association “Vento di Shardana” in Cagliari (which he has done and is doing a lot to support Team Vento di Sardegna) and the “Shardana” Club in New York.

Mura will then tell about his epic win at OSTAR, also through video and photographic documents. There will be a press conference with the presence of the main Italian media in NYC.

“It is an amazing emotion to be here – confirms Andrea Mura – I am pleased to bring my greetings to many Italian and especially Sardinian emigrants present in the United States and especially in New York”

“The excitement of winning OSTAR has not yet passed, it is still the adrenaline that it has made it in this record edition,” Mura concludes.
