“An unforgettable day” – these are the words of skipper Andrea Mura, protagonist of a dedicated event at the General Consulate of Italy in New York.
Mura talked about his latest epic win to the public, using video and photos: particularly impressive images of the so-called Perfect Tempest that decimated the OSTAR 2017 fleet.
The General Consul, Francesco Genuardi, complimented the Sardinian champion with a “thank you full of passion and pride for the accomplished win”.
Mura recalled his commitment with young people and schools and especially with disadvantaged people (there are several charity initiatives he supports, such as the Vela Solidale in Cagliari).
In the meantime there have been messages from institutional representatives such as the Italian Ambassador in the US, Armando Varricchio, the Mayor of Cagliari Zedda who had already complimented with a Twitter post on arrival at Newport …
